With What Remains

With what remains of the week, I need to make up some ground.  I stayed home with the twins yesterday in a controversial attempt to keep them from spreading their fever and cough to the rest of the school, as well as give them a day to sit, be pumped full of fluids and cough/mucus remedies, and rest up.

Now to get myself back up to speed.  Being thrown that far off of my weekly regimen can make the rest of the week a bit of a train wreck if I let it.  I won’t let it.  I worked out hard Monday and Tuesday, and will have to make my runs harder tomorrow as well.  It would be helpful if I could resist the lingering halloween candy too.  I’ve dropped more weight than I had wanted, but then, according to the FDA chart for healthy body mass index (BMI), I’m overweight.  I am must a hair over 5′9″, and weigh about 180.  FDA BMI chart states that I should weigh no more than 160.  Of course, at that weight I am gaunt and my ribs show.  I don’t find that to be a healthy chart for a lot of people, myself included.  In the weeks and months to come, I’ll be examining body types, and ways to come to grips with what works best.

But as for me for today, I need to pack my cup of peanuts or cashews, protein bar, cup of fruit or vegetables, protein drink and bottles of water, and then hit the gym hard at lunch.  With what remains of this week, I can’t afford to miss another day.  it becomes easy to take the path of least resistance and become lazy.  There are too many miles to go before I sleep, and that level of slack-ness has no room in my life.

There is only one admirable form of the imagination: the imagination that is so intense that it creates a new reality, that it makes things happen.
